Let's Get Acquainted
Our story began over 25 years ago...marriage is a journey and ours had many
twists and turns. Here are the some of highlights:
We each brought children into the relationship ...he had one and I had three. To add to all this new chaos, we filled three 20 yard dumpsters from gutting our first “old” home. As we put it back together, we decided to adopt two little girls. Two years passed in a blink...then the phone rang. We received a call asking us to bring a baby boy with special needs into our lives. What? I was in my 40’s...but, we knew God was moving,
so we picked him up just hours after the call.
Fast forward, five years later, we sold our home and bought an old farmstead
and renovated the barn into a commercial building to house our new concrete countertop business. Yup, 7 kids seemed like a fantastic time to start a new business...without health insurance.
All this leads us to now...the kids are all grown, we sold our business, packed up multiple moving trucks and moved from Wisconsin to Michigan into our “final project”... retirement. Most choose warm weather and relaxation...we went a different route.
Our blog posts will journal our story, past and present, in more detail as we go. We’ll talk about our faith journey, family, renovations on a budget, gardening, cooking, homesteading...and one of my favorites...quilting! I hope you’ll follow along as we share what we’ve learned and what we still don’t know!
